Misaki Kuno is joining the voice cast of the ongoing Mission: Yozakura Family TV series as Ai — a cat-like little girl. The anime first premiered in Japan on April 7, 2024 and is scheduled to broadcast 27 total episodes.
Additionally, new character designs have also been released for Nanao Yozakura, highlighting his unaltered natural state.
Mirai Minato (Masamune-kun’s Revenge, The Dungeon of Black Company, Sasaki and Peeps) is directing the anime series and writing the screenplay, with Mizuki Takahashi (Kizuna no Allele co-chief animation director) as character designer and chief animation director, and Sus4’s Koji Fujimoto (Ragna Crimson) and Osamu Sasaki (Ragna Crimson) as music composers. SILVER LINK is handling the animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast includes:

- • Yumi Uchiyama as Nao Yozakura
The series is based on the action comedy manga by Hitsuji Gondaira, which was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on August 26, 2019. A total of 24 tankobon volumes have been released as of June 2024, with a 25th volume set for release on August 2, 2024.
The anime series has been listed in Hulu’s April lineup as a Hulu Original title in the United States. Disney+ is streaming the series in other select territories outside Japan.
VIZ Media releases the Mission: Yozakura Family manga in English, describing the main synopsis as:
Taiyo Asano is a super-shy high school student and the only person he can talk to is his childhood friend Mutsumi Yozakura. However, Mutsumi comes from a line of master spies with amazing powers. Her oldest brother, Kyoichiro, is obsessed with Mutsumi and out to kill anyone who gets remotely near her — and his next target is Taiyo! The only way for Taiyo to save himself from Kyoichiro’s murderous clutches is to marry Mutsumi!
