A new teaser PV trailer has been released for the upcoming The Fable TV anime series, which will air for two consecutive cours, starting on April 6, 2024. Disney+ will exclusively stream the series worldwide.
Ryousuke Takahashi (Soukou Kihei Votoms: Koei Futatabi) is directing the anime series, with Yuuya Takashima (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch of Mercury sci-fi researcher) as series screenwriter, and Kyuuma Ooshita (My Home Hero co-chief animation director) and Saki Hasegawa (Aoashi) as character designers. Tezuka Productions is handling the animation production for the series.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast members are:
- • Kazuyuki Okitsu as Akira Satou
- • Miyuki Sawashiro as Yoko Satou
- • Kana Hanazawa as Misaki Shimizu
- • Akio Ootsuka as Takeshi Ebihara
- • Kenjirou Tsuda as Kenji Kojima
- • Tetsuo Komura as Boss
- • Jun Fukushima as Jackal Tomioka
The original manga series ran in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine from November 1, 2014 to November 18, 2019. Twenty-two tankoubon volumes were released in total. It was followed by The Fable: The Second Contact, which ran from July 19, 2021 to July 10, 2023 for a total of nine tankoubon volumes. The manga also inspired a short story manga collection, as well as a live-action film duology.


Kodansha USA releases The Fable manga in English and describes the synopsis as:
When you’re the infamous “genius killer” hitman The Fable, many things come easy. Being a normal person, however, isn’t one of them. In fact, being told that he can’t kill anyone for a while may just be the hardest job he’s ever taken…
