The Tonari no Yokai-san anime adaptation will begin airing in Japan on April 6 (effectively April 7 at 2 AM JST). A main trailer and visual have been released as well.
Tonari no Yokai-san is based on the Eastpress-published manga by noho. It takes place in a village where yokai, humans, and gods co-exist. The main characters include Buchio, a long-lived cat who suddenly evolves into a two-tailed Nekomata and begins learning the art of transformation from the Bakegitsune Yuri; Karasutengu Jiro, a guardian of the mountains; and the young girl Mu-chan.
The manga was originally published on Twitter and is available on Matogrosso. Four tankoubon volumes were released between 2018 to 2022. The first part of a side story volume was released in August 2023.
